Do Cats Control Their Humans?
Have you ever heard the saying, "Dogs have owners, cats have staff"? There's an article in LiveScience.com titled "Cats Do Control Humans, Study Finds". The researchers found that some cats mix a high-pitched cry with a purr when they want to be fed. The purr-cry is comparable to an infant's cry and is hard to ignore for a human.
I don't think I have ever heard this vocalization. However, my cats will stare at me, or sit on me when I am sleeping, or push things off my dresser, or even open the food cabinet when it is time to eat. They let me know when they want to play, get a massage, or sleep. I oblige. I clean up all their messes. I am truly staff.
